Dyeing Your Eyelashes? Why? What is Eyelash Tinting all about?
Most of us wear mascara all the time. With your busy life you just might start thinking that if my eyelashes were tinted you wouldn’t have to bother applying mascara, saving time in the morning getting ready.
But is eyelash tinting such a great idea after all?
Let’s start with, just what is eyelash tinting?
It’s a done at your salon by a well-trained and highly experienced esthetician who has trained to do it. You sit back; they place cotton pads under each eye as to keep the dye off your skin. They apply the dye to your lashes, wait about 15 minutes or so and your lashes are now dyed. If you wear contacts you will want to remove them before having lash tinting done. If done correctly you shouldn’t feel any stinging.
There are problems that could come up if you tried it at home, but there are kits for doing it at home.
Eyelash tinting takes a special type dye; you just can’t use hair dye like the type that you would use in coloring your hair. In fact the FDA prohibits the use of hair dyes for use as an eyelash tint or for tinting your brows. Did you know that the FDA requires that all hair-dye products including eyelash tinting come with instructions on how to perform patch tests before use just to be sure you do not have an allergic reaction. The health hazards about lash tinting ingredients have been known about for over 60 years.
What would be the allergic reactions? The allergic reaction to dye formulation could cause swelling, inflammation and possible lead to eye infections. This is why it is very important that it be done by a professional.
Do the benefits having your lashes tinted out way the risks?
If you are super busy, someone plays sports, swimmer etc eyelash tints might be something you could look into. Without having mascara smudges is a good idea. Also it is not recommended that you wear water-proof mascara all the time due to the damage it can use trying to remove it each night.
Also if you are sensitive to eye makeup, lash tinting by be a good idea. Always be sure to patch test before even thinking about having it done if you are sensitive to makeup overall.
Cost factor: Eyelash dyeing costs around $25 to $75 dollars depending. If you see it for less, be careful, it might be someone who is newly trained and just trying to bring in business doesn’t mean she knows what she is doing. Eyelash tinting is not permanent so if you see that, that is misleading. It’s really semi-permanent and lasts as long as your lashes do. The life style of your lashes is about 4 to 5 weeks which is why there is no way it should be called permanent makeup.
The best thing you should do it research for yourself about the benefits and risks and see if its really something right for you. This article is by no means s always it best to speak with your skincare professional to be sure you are using the correct products.
These are just guidelines and it’s up to you to find out what is best for your eyelashes.

This is the time of year when the smoky eyes are so back into style again! Each year the colors choices for smoking them up with might change but the basic way of applying it never does. Smoky eyes has a new twist this year, a fourth color was added! Add a little sparkle by adding a icy shade to the inside of the corner of your eyes. What you may not know is mascara it self has wax in it. There are different types of wax that maybe used. Sometimes that wax can develop crystal formations that prevent it from going on smoothly.
Using a thinner mascara may help if you have this happening often in the brand that you are using. The best mascara is one that is on a medium size brush that isn’t too thick and easy to use. Mascara should apply easily without tugging on your lashes.
1~ Best tips of all to avoid clumping and smudging always wipe the mascara wand lightly with a tissue before applying it. If you apply mascara to your bottom lashes the best tip to stop it from smudging is to run a Q-tip over the tips of your lashes to remove any extra mascara.
If your mascara is clumpy then you need to use a lash comb to remove the excess mascara. There are a few on the market today, we use the Perfect Lash Comb because that is just what it does, it removes excess mascara. It works great if you are using Magic Lash with your mascara but you need to be careful and not remove all of it. Some thickness is what you need with Magic Lash.
When applying mascara apply upwards from below the upper lashes going outwards. Some say go side to side and then upwards. The reason is it leaves more mascara on your lashes to work with. Making them look fuller and fatter.
Did you know that there is a reason for the different shapes of mascara wands? The bigger and fatter the wand the fuller it should make your lashes. If you have a thin wand you are only going to apply a small amount of mascara on your lashes. Great for those who want to wear it but do not want to look like that they are.
Another way to make your lashes look lush is to apply a thin line of eyeliner at the base of the lashes. This is also help cover up if you have light lashes as well.
Curling your lashes before applying your mascara will also help them look really lush. Just remember that mascaras are best if replaced every 3 months or so as they dry out.

Beautiful Eye Makeup
Your eyes are one of your biggest assets. It is said that a person’s soul can be seen from their eyes and yours are no exception! Here are some quick and easy tips to help you make your eyes more seductive.
1. Start with concealer: this will get rid of dark circles and shadows under your eyes. Always pat never rub concealer into your skin.
2. Apply eye base: this will stop eye make up from getting caught in the creases of your eye. It will also help to keep your make up to look fresh for a long time.
3. Eye shadow: This is where the fun begins. To make your eyes look wonderful use a 3 tone effect like the pros.
a. Initially use a light color from lid to brow bone
b. Secondly use a slightly darker shade on your lid
c. Use the darkest color in the crease of your lid.
d. Blend them well.
4. Apply eyeliner: You can use a darker shade of eye shadow for a beautiful effect. Just wet a brush that is slanted and apply the eye shadow. Put it as close to your eye lash line as you can. For the bottom of your eyes only make the line from the middle to the outer edge, and then smudge it with your finger or a cotton bud.
5. Make your eyes stand out: with highlighter, create a v shaped design from top to bottom of the inner corner of your eye blend in. Use gold or pink for this as white will be too bold.
6. Highlight your brows: You can use the same shade of highlighter to use on your brow bone. Apply from the middle to the outside and blend.
7. Last of all apply your mascara. You can create a warmer look with a brown color instead of black. Don’t forget your Magic Lash!
These steps do not take long and will make you stand out in the crowd. For added effect if you have long lashes you can curl them.
Always match your eye shadow with your eyes and of course the clothes you are wearing. Remember to blend everything well. Subtlety equals seductive. You can also be part of the trend and give your eyes the “smoky look.” Check out this article: How to Create Sultry Smoky Eyes
Correcting your eyes:
• Close together: emphasize the outer corner of the eye. This will give the illusion of your eyes being further apart.
• Too far apart: draw attention to the inner corner of the eyes:
• Too small: use lighter shades to make eyes bigger and use a darker shade on the crease and outer edge of the eye. When applying eyeliner to the upper lid taper it at the outward corner to make the eye longer.
• Drooping eyes: Do not use eyeliner just use some eye shadow on the outer corner of your eye. Apply the color upwards and outwards. Highlight your brows. Concentrate mascara in the inner corner of your eye. You can also use a silver color on the inner corner of the eye.

What is Mascara?
Mascara is a product used to coat and define your eyelashes. If you use only two makeup products everyday it has been recommended that it be mascara and lipstick. Both easy to use and reapply if need be.
Mascara comes in a multiple of colors , dark colors like black, brown, and navy blue. It also comes in colors not commonly used for everyday, fushica, light blue, green, purple, gold and more.
Don’t forget we also have our glitters, some brands better than others. Glitter Mascara can be wore in your hair as well! If there is a color that you feel is just too wild to be wearing but would look really cool in your
hair then that try instead?
Mascara comes in many formulations, waterproof, water-soluble, with added moisturizers, lengthen and thickeners and now mascara that helps your lashes curl and even grow!
There are drugstore brands and expensive brands all comes down to your choice and your pocketbook. A lot of the more expensive brands offer more types and do more for your lashes but for everyday use, often
a inexpensive store brand will do. While reading your beauty magazines and makeup forums online you will find that everyone has that “one” mascara they will not stop using. Everyone is loyal to a brand and tell you all about it!
When it comes to applying mascara please only use the applicator it comes with. A lot of the companies prided themselves on the type of brush they offer, saying that its the brush that makes the mascara better
than the rest, not what is in the tube.
A common problem we all have with mascara, is sometimes it smudges or even flakes. If it has started flaking on you, that is a very good tip that its old and needs to be replaced fast!
One of the best ways not to have your mascara start smudging is to not put your eye cream that you should be using everyday, do not put it right under your eye. The reason is as the day goes on, the eye cream moves closer to your eye causing your mascara to become a little wet. Just enough for it to start smudging specially if you are wearing it on your lower lashes.
There is one very popular older model who’s idea for not having your mascara smudge, is after you have removed your cleanser is to go around the eye with a Q-tip with a toner as a well to make sure there
is nothing left under the eye to get onto your mascara. But that also means going without using any eye cream, and that is a sure way to have those little fine lines to show!
Do not go without eye cream just because it might cause your mascara to smudge. No matter what keep using your eye cream! Because it’s the eye creams that keeps you’re the skin around your eye moist and
not show off your wrinkles if you are old enough to have them.
Did you can even “seal” your mascara by adding a single coat of clear mascara over your regular mascara? That is good if you are wearing glitter mascara and making sure that the glitter doesn’t start flake
off. Before applying mascara use the eyelash curler not after! It will pull and can break off your lashes if you try to curl your lashes after applying mascara. If you have clumps there is a lash comb made just to help take out the clumps.Use it gently and before the mascara dries.
Need tips on how to apply your mascara?
You apply mascara with smooth upward strokes. Many makeup artists feel you don’t need to apply mascara to your lower lashes but most women do. Mascara looks best usually with just one to two coats on the top lashes and only one coat on the bottom lashes.
To get truly thick lashes use Magic Lash eyelash enhancer.* Its natural fibers give length and true thickest to your lashes. Apply one coat of mascara apply a coat of Magic Lash but blow lightly on the wand before applying as a coat. Than add a second coat of mascara and see what it does for your eyes!
Because the mascara applicator comes into contact with the eye, bacteria is then transferred back into the tube. Not sharing your mascara is the only was to stop anything transferring into your eyes and its best
to replace your mascara every six months to keep it fresh. And there you have it, just a few common facts about your basic mascaras.
